Hi Ken,
I just had the pleasure of perusing your blog. It was wonderful.
Your photos are fantastic and your dialog was enjoyable. Thank
you. I should be working on a report but it was much more pleasant
to look at your photos. Makes me realize how much I do miss being
near the water. I grew up in Virginia and do have cousins in
Florida. Steve and I will have to go to Florida again soon.
Thanks again.

Thanks to Nancy Cox, who provided this report.
Also of interest are sightings of American Three-toed Woodpecker
and American Dipper. Ken
We had a huge crowd today. There were 3 Audubon Societies up
(Sangre de Cristo, Central NM, and Massachusetts). We were able
to show them several birds in the hand catching 19 repeats with
2 from previous years. One was a 3 year old Black and the other
was a 4 year old Brown-capped. Only one Gray-crowned was seen
by a few people. We only newly banded 2 Brown-capped (and 3
Mountain Chickadees). The flock size was about 75 birds.
An American Three-toed Woodpecker was seen by many. There also
was an American Dipper down at the Open Space in San Antonito.
The road was icy especially in the morning. One of our
volunteers, Robert, pulled one vehicle back on the road. He
offered to pull someone else out but they wanted to get out on
their own. On the way down, most of the ice had melted but
there is still a lot of ice in shaded spots.
