Here is this morning's report from the banding team--
Hi All,
Another busy day for the Rosy-Finch Project with another 124 encounters.
18 birds were newly banded. This consisted of 9 Blacks, 2 Brown-capped, and 7 Gray-crowns (2 Hepburns and 5 interior).
106 birds were "repeats". 85 of these were Blacks, 6 were Brown-capped and 15 Gray-crowns (5 Hepburns, 10 interior).
2 of the repeats were from previous years, (A Hepburns that was 1st banded on Jan 14 2007 and a Black that was 1st banded on Dec 3 2006).
The Road to the Crest House was pretty much dry.
The next banding session will be this Saturday (Feb. 19th).
Remember that the Crest House does not open until 9:30 am.
