Rosy-finch feeders will be put up in late October

The rosy-finches actually spend more time on Sandia Crest  than they do on their breeding grounds, and their arrival time is fast approaching.  Dave Weaver and Fran Lusso, who coordinate the feeding program at Crest House, have sent this encouraging note.

Thank you, Dave and Fran!

Many thanks to Lee Hopwood for her generous donation of seed!

Ken

Hi Ken,

The last of the hummingbirds may have left the Crest at last, so it is time to think about putting up the Rosy Finch feeder.  Our current plan is to put up the feeder on the deck during the last week of October, in case the birds return as early as they did last season.  The Crest staff have agreed to this plan.  Lee Hopwood will supply seed again this year, which is great news!

Hope all is well back your way.

Dave
