Time to take down the flag and fold it up until next November, as the rosy-finches have departed to their respective breeding ranges. Many thanks to Feeder Program Coordinator Alan Mickelson who has kept the feeders full, to Lee Hopwood and others who have made generous donations of seed, and to Steve and Nancy Cox and all the other banders from Rio Grande Bird Research. We are particularly grateful to Andy Mayer, Owner, Nick Harada, Manager and all Two Mile High LLC, Sandia Crest House staff for their hospitality and support.
The end of the rosy-finch season really ushers in the return of the hummingbirds to the deck feeders and fantastic spring birding, so don't miss the excitement of birding your way up the Crest Road and topping the trip off at Sandia Crest House for more birds and magnificent views.
