Come join us on the beautiful trails of Sandia Crest, high in the Cibola National Forest. A fun morning is guaranteed for the whole family. The woolly bear caterpillar, seen in abundance with its thick, all-black coat is predicting a snowy winter, and lots of the white stuff for a great race.
Last year, best overall times (www.sandiasnowshoe.com) were posted by Michelle Hummel and Steve Clarke. Our youngest participants were Elizabeth Eminger (age 8) and Luke Eminger (age 7). Jonah Thompson, 14, won his age group and was filmed during the race for KOB Channel 4 on their “Olympic Spirit” segment during the 2014 Winter Olympics.
All proceeds support THE FRIENDS OF THE SANDIA MOUNTAINS, who volunteer to preserve and care for trails, picnic areas and other resources for the benefit of public use under the
auspices of the US Forest Service.
