Here is the latest report from Dave Weaver, who is Co-coordinator of the Sandia Crest rosy-finch feeding project with Fran Lusso.
Thanks, Dave and Fran!
Hi Ken,
I went up to the Crest today. The road was clear with a few icy spots in the shade and in the parking lot. At the Crest House it was 32 degrees at 10:30am with a light breeze and about 1 inch of snow on the ground. The finches seem to be coming to the feeder more regularly now, although the flocks still are relatively small (~30). According to the Crest House staff the number of birders is increasing a bit. I have attached a log update.
Hope all is well!
Dave
