Cibola NF -- Sandia Crest House

Crest House: 22 Gray-crowned, 2 Black and 1 Brown-capped on December 7
Sandia Crest: 6 Gray-crowned , 1 Black, 1 Brown-capped  November 24-27

eBird observers first reported seeing all three rosy-finch species at Sandia Crest on November 19. These included 6 Black at Crest House,  2 Gray-crowned and 2 Brown-capped and another Black Rosy-Finch along with 9 unidentified in the area. Red Crossbills were also present.

As of November, 2019, Crest  House will only  be open on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 10:00 AM

Check and query the Crest House Facebook Page before venturing up, in the event that more timely information about closures, weather and road conditions is available.
