#2616 LOREN: First Winter Black Rosy-Finch

KEN: Rather than a Black Rosy-Finch, this looks like a Brown-capped RF female in formative plumage. Its wing coverts are almost entirely white.

STEVE:#2616 is a Black Rosy-Finch (BLRF) female in formative plumage. Brown-capped Rosy-Finches (BCRFs) don't get that much gray in the hind crown.  For age note the longest upper tail coverts being very pale.
