American Three-toed Woodpecker seen north of Crest house

Andy Kraynik had a male THREE-TOED WOODPECKER on the north 10k trail, about a mile from the crest in the Sandias July 4.


In the past, most sightings of three-toes have been just south of Crest House, along the Nature Trail near the Kiwanis Meadow, and in trees just south and west of the Meadow. Those searching for this bird might also try walking north on the Crest Trail.
